Streaming or Recording from a PlayStation 5 (PS5) or Xbox Series X console can be a useful way to share your gameplay with friends or create content for online platforms. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

Make Clips / Snapshots

Simply press the Create button on your PS5 controller
or Share button on your Series X controller.
Select the option to capture or record gameplay. On the PS5, you can choose between capturing a screenshot or recording a video. On the Xbox Series X, you can choose between capturing a screenshot, recording the last 30 seconds of gameplay, or starting a new recording.

To stop the recording, press the Share button again and select the option to stop the recording. The video will be saved to your console's capture gallery.

To access your captured screenshots and videos, go to the capture gallery on your console. From here, you can view, edit, and share your captures. You can also transfer them to a USB drive or upload them to online platforms such as YouTube or Twitch.

Stream With OBS and your PC/Webcam etc.

OBS is a free and open-source software that allows you to capture, encode, and stream video and audio content.

Connect your PS5 or Xbox Series X console to your computer using a capture card and HDMI cable(s). A capture card is a hardware device that captures the video and audio output of your console and sends it to your computer over a USB connection. A HDMI cable allows you to connect your console directly to your computer, but you will need a way to send the signal to your TV also.
See some solutions for that below. #Peripherals

Open OBS and add a new scene. A scene is a collection of sources that define what will be captured and streamed. You can add multiple scenes to your OBS setup to switch between different capture configurations.

Add a new source to your scene. You can choose between various sources such as window capture, display capture, game capture, or audio input capture. Select the appropriate source based on your capture setup. For example, if you are using a capture card, you can choose game capture as the source. If you are using a HDMI cable, you can choose display capture or window capture as the source.

Configure the source settings. Here you can adjust the capture resolution, frame rate, and other settings to optimize the quality and performance of your stream. Consult the OBS documentation for more detailed instructions.

In order to begin streaming, you will typically need to obtain a stream key from the platform you have an account on. A stream key is a unique identifier that allows OBS to connect to the platform's servers and transmit your video and audio content.
Here is how to obtain a stream key:

Twitch: Log in to your Twitch account and go to the dashboard. Click on the "Stream Key" tab and click the "Show Key" button to reveal your stream key.

YouTube: Log in to your YouTube account and go to the YouTube Studio. Click on the "Live" tab and select "Stream now" or "Events" from the menu. Click on the "Copy" button next to the stream key to copy it to your clipboard.

Facebook: Log in to your Facebook account and go to the "Live" tab in the "Create" menu. Click on the "Create" button and select "Use Stream Key." Click on the "Copy" button next to the stream key to copy it to your clipboard.

Once you have obtained your stream key, you can paste it into the "Stream Key" field in the OBS output settings.
Make sure to keep your stream key private, as anyone with access to it will be able to stream to your channel.

To stop streaming or recording, click the Stop button in OBS. The recorded video will be saved to the location you specified in the output settings.

Need a capture card, or just a splitter?

If you don't have a good graphic card, consider getting an
